24-Hour Theater Fest
At 3:30 on Friday, December 8th three playwriting prompts were chosen by Waynflete theater students and were sent out by email to eager student playwrights from four other schools. The 24 hour theater festival had begun.
With the following prompts twelve new plays were born:

I didn’t have anything to do with it.
The next morning 41 actors, playwrights and directors from Waynflete, Morse, Cheverus, Casco Bay and Portland High School arrived in the Franklin theater to share a great day of improv, creative problem solving, pizza and most importantly putting 12 new plays on their feet. The plays were performed later that afternoon for an incredibly supportive audience made up of family, friends and the actors and playwrights themselves. Each cast was a mix of students from different schools that had met for the first time that day. It was amazing to see how may different ways these prompts were interpreted. Needless to say, a good time was had by all.
