Current Opportunities
Upper School Administrative Assistant (5/9/25)
Waynflete seeks an Upper School Administrative Assistant to coordinate the daily operations of the division, providing critical support to the Director as well as to other administrative functions in support of students and faculty in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Assistant also works in conjunction with the School Health and Counseling Team for Upper School student care and will need First Aid and Medication administration training which can be provided by the school. Attendance management is another key aspect of the role. This is a 12-month onsite position beginning in June.
Applicants should have a B.A. degree, strong interpersonal, analytic and organizational skills, demonstrated expertise in written and oral communication and data management, and an appreciation for Waynflete’s particular mission and goals. This position requires a high proficiency with technology and a strong facility for learning new software, managing data systems, and the ability to seamlessly switch between tasks and softwares. Experience in an independent school or other non-profit organization is preferred. Discretion and care in managing confidential information is essential.

Part-time Psychology Teacher (5/6/25)
Waynflete seeks a creative and engaging part-time Psychology teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. This position is for one high school semester-long course that can run both fall and spring semester or for only one of the semesters, depending on candidate availability. The course is called Introduction to Psychology and is available to 11th and 12th grade students.
Experience teaching Psychology, along with a masters degree or higher in a relevant field is preferred, though a teacher with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Social Work or Sociology, along with strong teaching skills, will also be considered. We seek applicants who are passionate about the field of psychology, who use innovative teaching practices, and engage with students and colleagues in a collaborative spirit. The candidate should be prepared to teach a foundational course in Psychology that provides broad coverage of the field by presenting basic theories, research, and applied use of psychology. The course should also provide students with the tools necessary for the study of psychology, and a sampling of the major areas of psychology research. Because of the nature of our schedule, the candidate will need to be available three days per week, at different times of the day on those three days.

Part-time Theatrical Costumer (5/6/25)
Waynflete seeks an experienced costumer for the theater program in grades six through twelve beginning in August 2025. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills and demonstrates a creative and collaborative spirit, resourcefulness and flexibility in support of the theater program. Responsibilities include costuming for one middle school play and three upper school co-curricular productions, including a musical. Productions support casts of 15-30 students. Rehearsal and costume work sessions are from 3:30-5:30, Monday through Friday from September to April. Production meetings, extended hours and weekend obligations are expected during final production weeks. Work days can be flexible and the position includes the mentorship and guidance of a student costume crew and must accommodate, encourage and nurture student learning and participation. The job may also include some management and care of our onsite costume shop.
Candidates should have a college level degree as well as costuming, design and theater experience. A theater or costume design degree is ideal. Additionally, experience and training in sewing, draping, costume design and teaching are essential. Knowledge and connections to local theater resources are also helpful.

Waynflete seeks a creative and engaging part-time Math teacher to begin in late August for the 2025–2026 school year. Responsibilities will include teaching between 1-3 Upper School classes in the Mathematics Department.

This is a flexible position that could work for a variety of candidates. Academic Support Literacy Tutor (4/15/25)
Waynflete School is seeking an in-person, part-time literacy tutor for lower and middle school students in grades K-8. Candidates must have experience teaching reading in the classroom and/or individualized setting, with training in a multisensory intervention program like Orton-Gillingham or Wilson. Preference will be given to those who have experience teaching executive function skills and writing, as well. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
Tutoring hours will vary, so candidates must be available during the school day, until 4:30pm. This is an ideal position for people who can be flexible when scheduling sessions with students, and patient when building up a caseload. Availability during the summer months is desired.

Bus Driver - Trips & Weekends (11/1/24)
Waynflete is seeking a licensed school bus driver beginning with the 2024-2025 school year for approximately 20 to 30 hours per week during the school year — hours fluctuate between busy sports seasons and quieter weeks. Duties include providing transportation for field trips, athletics, and other school-related events; training to be a substitute route driver is possible if desired. Weekend and evening availability is key. The successful candidate must have a flexible schedule, positive attitude, enjoy children, work well in a team setting, and pass a school-required physical. Strong driving experience and a commitment to safety are essential. Commercial driver’s license with P and S endorsements and DOT physical clearance is required.
