Stephanie Hogan works in the Academic Support Center at Waynflete, teaches Middle School SEL Seminar classes, and coaches the Waynflete Varsity Field Hockey Team. Stephanie also owns and operates a private tutoring company, Wings From Roots, which specializes in SAT Preparation, Executive Function Coaching, and Academic Support. She and her family recently moved back to Portland from the Cayman Islands, where Stephanie worked closely with an educational consulting company, Dorm and Day, to help students prepare for the SAT, and their transition from international high schools to US colleges and universities.
Stephanie enjoys coaching students on how to use specific strategies associated with the Verbal section of the test to support time management, muscle memory, and decrease anxiety. She has assisted countless students for over a decade, beginning with boarding and day students at Rumsey Hall School in Connecticut, to private school students living on Grand Cayman, and most recently students from across Cumberland County. Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family on their little sailboat in Casco Bay, and she loves snow days.
“Steph was a great help in [our son]’s preparation for the SAT. She targeted his specific needs and was able to give him strategies to improve his score. She provided him with the time and space to practice those strategies and his score went up 250 points!” ~ Parent
