Fashion and Machine Sewing Skills

Teen campers who are interested in clothing design and fashion history can learn how fashion ideas come to life on the runway. Fashion campers will spend a week learning how to sketch fashion designs, to manipulate fabric and surface design. Campers will learn to sew with increased intricacy - including as zippers, buttons and closures - and will explore different sewing methods, such as a flounce, gather, and pleats. A review of fashion history will provide a solid foundation for campers to express their own colorful creativity on free-choice projects.
