Grade 10 – Baxter
This group of sophomores will be hiking in Baxter State Park. They will spend one night at Roaring Brook and two nights in a the lean-tos at Chimney Pond. This pond is about halfway up Mount Katahdin and is the perfect spot from which to explore Maine's greatest mountain.
If the weather is cooperative, the group will have the chance to climb to Baxter Peak, the highest point in all of Maine. They may also have an opportunity to explore Pamola's Caves, cool caves and caverns formed by giant boulders that slid from the mountain centuries ago. On the last day, they will hike out from Chimney Pond and make their way back to campus.
