Other Giving Opportunities
Waynflete periodically initiates capital campaigns to help pay for major building projects, increase endowment, or support other significant needs that are beyond the scope of the Waynflete Fund. Capital campaign gifts are often more significant in size and are pledged over multiple years. During a capital campaign, donors are typically asked to support both the Waynflete Fund and the campaign effort. This ensures that the school’s operations are not compromised as we undertake major improvements. Recent capital campaigns have funded construction of the Arts Center, the Emery Science Wing, and have led to significant endowment growth.
The Waynflete Endowment
Waynflete has over $22 million in endowment funds, thanks to countless donors over the past few decades. The principal of these funds remains intact while the school spends a percentage of the endowment value each year to support the annual operating budget, financial aid, professional development, and various programs. Most existing funds within the Waynflete endowment are open to additional donors. Donors wishing to establish a named fund within the Waynflete endowment may do so with a minimum gift of $50,000. To see a list of endowed funds, or to learn more about supporting Waynflete’s endowment, please contact the Development and Alumni Relations Office.
When you plan a gift to Waynflete as part of your long-term estate and financial plans, you support students, teachers, and programs far into the future. Planned gifts often offer significant tax benefits and can help with financial planning, too. There are a variety of planned gift options. Donors can include Waynflete in their will, offer a gift of life insurance, or even donate retirement assets. The Ruth Cook Hyde 1910 Circle recognizes those who have included Waynflete in their estate plans.
