The Peter Hamblin Endowment for Financial Aid

Peter Hamblin will be retiring at the end of this 2018 school year. When he retires, Peter—or “Doc” as he is affectionately known by many—will leave behind an exceptional legacy of teaching and mentoring. The impact of his contributions will be felt for many years to come, both at Waynflete and in the lives that he has touched like ours.

As a tribute to Peter and his retirement from Waynflete after 38 years, a small group of alumni spearheaded the creation of an endowed scholarship fund in his name. The Peter Hamblin Endowment for Financial Aid will support in perpetuity an area of the school near and dear to his heart-giving qualified students the opportunity to attend Waynflete.

At a reception during Waynflete's recent Reunion Weekend, Alumnae Katie Fullam Harris '85 and Rose Scarcelli '88 had the honor of announcing the establishment of the fund to Peter, and letting him know that it has raised over $77,000 to date.

To honor Peter’s extraordinary Waynflete legacy, we invite you to make a special gift or pledge to the Peter Hamblin Endowment for Financial Aid.

We can think of no better way to recognize and celebrate Peter’s career at Waynflete—by providing deserving students the opportunity to experience the school that made such a difference in so many lives.
