What is Waynflete like in the summer? Fun and Friendships! Waynflete's
Summer Programs incorporate the mission of our school, focusing on
playful exploration in an engaging environment. We offer a range of
exciting programs for children and youth of all ages who live and/or
vacation in Maine, including Summertime Arts, Curtain Up! and Broadway Bound, Gymnastics Plus, and Eco-Science Adventure. New camps for the 2008 season include: ActorFest and Kinder-Nature.
What's more, campers of all abilities entering grades 1-12 can improve
their athletic skills and understanding through friendly competition
and practice in our Waynflete Sports Camps for basketball, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, recreation sports camp, a co-ed running camp —
as well as in Wayne St. Peter's tennis programs. All sports camps
(except basketball) are held at Waynflete's Fore River Fields, some of
the finest outdoor facilities in the state.
We also offer an engaging Early Childhood Arts Program
where youngsters can explore a wide range of visual and performing
arts. Children needing supervision after camp lets out can check into
our Extended Day Program, and limited bus transportation is available.

New Camps:
Kinder-Nature
Kinder-Nature
provides campers ages 3 through 5 with a hands-on, half-day science and nature
camp that fosters curiosity about the outdoors. Budding scientists create container gardens, make mud-pies, hold worm races, and learn
how to be active stewards of the environment. Campers also learn
about gardening, recycling, and how these practices are interrelated.

ActorFest
ActorFest gives students in Grades 6 through 9 an opportunity to learn the tools that professional actors use to bring a character to life. Young actors focus on acting basics such as improvisation exercises, monologues, and poetry. Boys and girls enrolled in ActorFest concentrate on the art of drama and conclude their session with an outdoor performance in the Waynflete Sanctuary.

Additional Sports Camps:
Recreation Sports Camp-Coed
Waynflete offers a coed recreation sports camp for boys and girls entering Grades K through 4. After lunchtime, activities include cooling off in sprinklers and water games; kickball; wiffle ball; four square; basketball; Capture the Flag…and many more games.
For campers entering Grades K through 4, this camp is a half day. Campers who attend Waynflete’s soccer camp will be picked up by camp counselors. If your child is not enrolled in this soccer camp, please drop him or her off at the field house located on the School’s Fore River Fields Athletic Complex.

Running–Coed
Boys and girls entering Grades 8 through 12 will participate in a comprehensive four-day running camp with Brian “Ziggy” Gillespie, Waynflete Varsity XC Coach and Maine Running Hall of Fame 1996 inductee. Guest speakers and staff will address topics such as: nutrition, training schedules, race strategies, weight training, and uphill-downhill racing techniques.
